For the past week and a half I have been working on a self portrait using a grid technique.
Since my face is readily available in a mirror or for photos, it is the most accessible model I have to practice with.
The grid technique breaks a photogragh up into squares, drawing of each square at a time, not really working as an entire picture – each square is done until the whole thing is finished.
You can either do it as a 1:1 ratio at 100% (each square on the original corresponds to the exact same size square on your drawing. Or you can (which I did) do a proportional enlargement. In this case it is at 120% of the original.
